Types of Electronic Commerce

E-commerce refers to the buying and selling of products or services in online. E-Commerce activities divided into 4 categories.
  • Business to Consumer (B2C): It is the direct deal between companies and end consumers. This is the direct selling through catalogs utilizing shopping cart software.
  • Business to Business (B2B): It describes the transactions between businesses, such as between a manufacturer and a wholesaler, or between a wholesaler and a retailer. The volume of B2B (Business-to-Business) transactions is much higher than the volume of B2C transactions. The primary reason for this is that in a typical supply chain.
  • Consumer to Business (C2B): Consumer to business E-commerce is growing at a rapid place where as consumer demand specific products or services from respective businesses.
  • Consumer to Consumer (C2C): This type of E-commerce works as Consumer to Business to Consumer (C2B2C). It essentially means that a consumer would contact a business in search for a suitable customer.
